Wife, mama, nutritionist, yoga teacher, and student of loving others well, I’m honored to pursue the path of learning and empowering myself and others into the way of wholeness. Setting aside the destination to perfection, I have found that entering into wholeness is more of a journey of embracing brokenness and the integration of all of our experiences as an essential part of our living and growing.
nutrition & natural health
My early work as a nutrition and wellness expert in the nutrition and natural products world allowed me to specialize in nutrition, supplement and health research and counseling. I’ve also had the privilege and honor to serve as a corporate consultant, and as a leader in my field as an Advisory Board member for both corporate and non-profit organizations, and as a published author and speaker. As a wholistic dietitian and yoga teacher, I’ve developed experience in nutrition science, physiological psychology, natural health, and the mind-body connection. My desire is to share the power of these healing modalities to see lives transformed to wholeness.
experience & influence
I graduated from Carson Newman College with a B.S. in Food and Nutrition and the University of Tennessee with a M.S. in Nutrition Science and cognate in physiological psychology. I have been a practicing dietitian for 20 years and had the honor to train and teach at Bastyr University, the leading natural health sciences institute in the United States. My passion for learning, integrative medicine, community and spirit living led me to yoga training and ministry development with Holy Yoga and teachers Brooke Boon, Katie Pearson, and Jonnie Goodmanson where I graduated as a yoga teacher with certificates in leadership and healing touch.
I was influenced by the gift of spirit early in life, and have been nourished by staying rooted and connected with a diverse group of beautiful souls in my family, community, local church and yoga tribe. Through the opportunity to serve and grow with others over the years, I discovered my desire to be a vessel of love, encouragement and direction to help others find healing and freedom so they can live intentionally in their calling and purpose. My heart is to make known the transformative power of a life surrendered to God, challenged by an encounter with Jesus, and led by the Holy Spirit.
my yoga journey
I have been a student of yoga since my discovery of this unifying and healing practice two decades ago. My journey in learning this ancient discipline has played a key role in awakening and nurturing the gift of awareness and intention for everyday living as a follower of Jesus. I desire to share the benefit of connecting the life-giving breath, body flow and movement, and prayer/meditation as a means to help others embrace and live this practice in their own unique and fullest expression. As a type A, driven personality, my preferred movement tends to be up-beat flow and power; however, I've learned to embrace the "yin" to my "yang" side and enjoy a gentle hatha practice with silent meditation.
